I Am Groot, the collection of shorts that star our favorite Flora Colossus from Guardians of the Galaxy, is returning for a second season on Disney+ on September 6, 2023.
I Am Groot's second season will feature five shorts and will see him "exploring the universe and beyond aboard the Guardians’ spaceships, coming face-to-face—or nose-to-nose—with new and colorful creatures and environments."
The trailer for I Am Groot's second season teases parts of Groot's new adventures, including a run-in with a ice cream truck spaceship, a close call with the Watcher from Marvel's What If... ?, Groot making hot cocoa, Groot getting a nose, and more.
Vin Diesel will once again voice Groot and Kristen Lepore will return as both writer and director.
In our review of I Am Groot's first season, we said it is "daft and devious, owning its non-essential existence and leaning into Baby Groot's own impetuous, unruly behavior."
Disney also shared a poster for I Am Groot's new season, and it shows a perturbed-looking Groot serving as a nest of sorts for a baby bird.
