Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will join Disney+ on August 2, Disney has announced. The company also shared a short trailer alongside the announcement, which you can watch below.

The Disney+ streaming date is set for just one day after the movie's Blu-ray physical release, which will hit store shelves on August 1. Guardians 3 has been available to buy digitally since July 7.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 focuses on Rocket's backstory, as Peter Quill and the rest of the team embark on a dangerous mission to save Rocket's life. The movie was James Gunn's final project with Marvel before shifting his attention to the future of DC Studios.

Guardians 3 hit theaters in early May, and the movie crossed $500 million globally after its first two weekends. The finale to Gunn's Guardians trilogy saw much better returns than other recent MCU projects like Ant-Man 3 and Thor: Love and Thunder.

We called Guardians 3 "great" in our review, saying, "the cast’s incredible chemistry and James Gunn’s soulful style remain unlike anything else in the MCU, and this movie sends them out on an emotional and action-packed high note."
