Southeast Asian gamers will undoubtedly know the name Mojiken Studio, the prolific Indonesian developers behind When the Past Was Around and A Space for the Unbound. The latter of which has become quite a hit since its release earlier this year.

The story begins with the player’s grandmother passing away, leaving behind her beloved pet, the aforementioned three-headed lizard named Thaw, Tea, and Tooth. While they have barked before while she was alive, the strange pet has since gone mute.To uplift the animal’s spirits, players must take Thaw, Tea, and Tooth for a walk in Sunset Park. Along the way, players will find presents to cheer them up with the twist being that each individual head of the beast possesses different personalities.

Once players reach the top of Sunset Peak, the evening walk with Thaw, Tea, and Tooth will be over. The players success depends on whether the three-headed lizard barks, though they can always try again next time.

For a more conventional Mojiken Studio release comes Project Spring Break, a new visual novel prototype where players assume the role of Nyai, an innkeeper of the peculiar motel called Spring Inn.

As guests come pouring in with their own nuances and personality quirks, it is up to Nyai to discern on what ails them. This can be done by checking each guest’s social media feed, and talking it out with them.

On top of that, players can also whip up magical drinks for their guests to try out, which can also help resolve their problems. Project Spring Break offers point-and-click mechanics in its gameplay, with elements of hidden object games sprinkled throughout.

The game also features different dialogue choices to make, which can lead to multiple endings. Project Spring Break was made during Mojikencamp 2023, an internal program in Mojiken Studio to cultivate new game ideas.
